Playa de Amadores is a beautiful white sand beach on the edge of steep cliffs. The south of the island is warm when everywhere else is cold. Amadores has a huge floating playground that kept up bouncing for hours. We had so much fun there.

You get to walk through (well above) the ruins and even go into remade houses to see what people lived like. They didn’t look very comfortable. They do 1.5 hour tours in English, Spanish, French, or German.
Read MoreEl Confital is a wild rocky natural reserve at the top of Gran Canaria. There are no houses but people live in the caves, just like the Croods did, on the cliffs. There is great surfing and good hiking. We explored the tide pools, climbed on ruins and hiked to the lookout where we could see a beautiful view of Las Palmas.

My friends Lisette and Elena walked up the trail and joined us at the top and we did the downhill together. We saw tiny caves, beautiful plants, giant cliffs on both sides, horses, bike riders, dogs and a really cool climbing area. It took us about two hours with a lot of stops.
